In collaboration with the, Ted Rogers Finance Society and, Women in Leadership TMU the Women in Finance & Tech event brings together women from the Finance and Tech industry to hear their voices on EDI and industry experiences. Participants will get the opportunity to listen to a panel discussion followed by open networking with the industry professionals and panelists, developing meaningful relationships and expanding their professional network

In collaboration with the Ted Rogers Finance Society, this event is the Ted Rogers Investment Council’s capstone event. An Evening with Capital Markets is a networking event with various industry professionals in the capital markets. As the Ted Rogers Investment Council is a capital markets-focused student group, this event encapsulates representation from every aspect of the business ranging from sell-side roles such as investment banking, sales and trading, corporate banking, and equity research to representation from the buy-side including private equity, venture capital, and asset management firms, hedge funds, and family offices etc. Students are given the opportunity to learn about the different routes in capital markets, by having first-hand conversations with professionals in the industry.

TRIC operates a mock fund of C$1 million. The goal is to maximize the fund while carefully managing risk through conducting thorough analyses of corporate names to add to the portfolio. The trajectory of each semester is to construct a stock pitch as a typical equity research associate would. Throughout the semester our analysts will create a stock pitch that will be presented at the end of the term to a panel of industry professionals. The goal of these pitches are for analysts to apply the technical and analytical skills they have learned throughout the semester such as financial modelling, economic research, and operating a Bloomberg Terminal to understand the attention to detail that goes into valuing a name and the creativity that goes into investing.
